Before & After Decorating | Days Inn Update
A few Before & After pictures with an update on the Days Inn Breakfast Area and Lobby update – We’re moving ahead, as we close out on Phase I, Phase II is scheduled to begin which will complete the Breakfast area with new flooring, furnishings and accessories – look for artwork from local Doylestown photographers. We will also be updating the Lobby with a new reception desk & business center, flooring, furnishings and accessories.
The paint color was toned down to a warm yellow/beige in a matt finish. With no natural light in the space it was important to keep it light yet warm and welcoming for that first cup of coffee in the morning. This warm beige/yellow color offsets the rich birch wood cabinetry. We kept the cabinet style simple, flat panel doors (hardware to come next week) in a medium wood tone. Central to the design plan are the quartz countertops in gray tones, which are so beautiful. To really make the quartz pop while adding personality and style the backsplash is tiled in an oversized porcelain subway tile in a charcoal gray topped with glass mosaic tile in yellow/clear/white & gray tones.
Defining spaces within a space is always key to my design plans ~ nancy
The spaces were defined within the Breakfast area subtly by tweaking the backsplash and wall treatment. To define the serving section while drawing your eye into the Breakfast Area we topped off the charcoal subway tiles with a sparkling glass mosaic tile in yellow/clear/white & gray tones. With the addition of the sparkling glass mosaic tile the paint color remains consistant in the seating area, serving area and TV wall.
In the Sink/Breakfast bar area we kept it simple with two rows of charcoal subway tile then added a commercial grade grasscloth wallpaper treatment bringing in texture against the sleek tiles.
