The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) recently announced Marc Fornes & The Very Many’s Selfridges & Co. Pop-Up Shop as a winner of the 40th Annual Interior Design Competition in the Retail/Showroom Category.
Can you just imagine the creative work, time and talent that went into this design for Louis Vuitton Retail locations. This design certainly raises the bar for Visual Design and Merchandising. Visual Design and Merchandising is key for a retail establishment in communicating to its customers. Next time you’re out shopping take a minute, look around and notice what the store is trying to convey. As a consumer, Visual Design and Merchandising is so important; a well merchandised and designed store makes the consumer feel like the company has invested in them and their employees by providing a space that is inspiring, clean and communicates their view-point. As a designer, what an opportunity visual merchandising is for a company to envelop potential customers in their brand, igniting their senses in very direction with products and service.
