I love the trend towards a neutral paint colors for the home; it has a fresh casual yet modern feel. A neutral paint scheme enhances the look of wood flooring while accessories and furnishings seem more important. A single vase of flowers from the farmers market makes a statement atop a collection of well-read books or magazines.
To your neutral paint scheme add pops of color in accessories; area rug, window treatments, pillows, books and natural elements such as a beautiful basket to hold a couple of throws or a reclaimed wood cocktail table.
This beautiful bedroom showcases a neutral palette layered with textural linen fabrics.
I recently painted a master bedroom in SW6147 Panda White, with SW7666 Fleur De Sel as an accent wall behind the bed. A rich warm wood floor is being installed to replace the existing carpeting. Both colors are so harmonious in the room, Panda White is a creamy soft white and Fleur De Sel provides a serene backdrop for the bed. I am very careful painting accent walls and only really use them when the space calls for it, in this room the bed is cerused oak and the Fleur De Sel added the exact hint of color to play off the bed while seamlessly blending into the Panda White.
Sherwin Williams paint deck, Whites Warm & Cool presents a well thought out selection of warm and cool neutral shades of white. The undertones skew from green, gray, brown, taupe, yellow, red and blue. Check out Sherwin Williams Whites and Lights collection on line, it is a really good way to see the undertones of these neutral shades.
my tip ~
After choosing your color, paint at least two coats on the wall and if you are painting over a deeper color, I strongly suggest priming the wall first. I know priming takes an extra step but it is well worth it.
