Take a moment and visit this amazing New York Apartment renovation by Alexa Hampton.
I was really inspired by the article and video below by Architectural Digest “Alexa Hampton’s Glamorous Renovation of a New York Apartment” as she shared with us before and after photo’s and walks us through her design process for this NYC Apartment renovation at the Pierre Hotel.
I have just finished installing wood flooring for two projects and what a transformation the flooring made in those spaces. I find that most of us are focused on the furnishings, accessories and fabrics but the flooring as Alexa Hampton points out is capable of unifying a space. In her Architectural Digest article, one of her suggestions is to “unify your space” she accomplished this by installing wood floors throughout the “public areas”. Below is a picture of the beautiful parquet wood floors leading into a newly renovated guest bedroom.

my tip ~
flooring has the ability to transform a space.
whatever option you choose for your flooring; hardwood, carpet, tile or use of area rugs, make sure to consider your design style as well as function. Its really a matter of preference so do your research, see what’s out there and take some time, because flooring can be pretty permanent.
