Pantone Color Report Spring 2015 for fashion was introduced in September to coincide with NY Fashion Week.
Since home fashion follows runway fashion … how will you incorporate these colors into your home … or will you?
“Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid
we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and
create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves
time to stop and be still,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the
Pantone Color Institute®. “Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein
air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically
manipulated. Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing
escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.”

The message for me is color + confidence, beautiful combinations of serene and bold, warm and cool combined with neutrals, all together brimming with clarity, calmness and joy.
- In the marketplace color and pattern abounds! If you haven’t been bit by the color bug just wait … there comes a point when you simply can’t resist.
If the color doesn’t get you the fresh modern patterns with global influences or solid textures just may. Designers have delivered new upbeat florals, geometric prints + animal prints in an array of colors plus beautiful textured solids and fresh takes on plaids + houndstooth patterns.
- I absolutely love the sophisticated breath of these modern serene yet powerful colors full of simple pleasures for the soul.
For the home, I think The Pantone Spring 2015 color palette is a most welcome accent to the existing abundance of neutral color schemes and furnishings.
- Find your way to introduce a little or a lot of color into your space, be fearless or at least push yourself up one notch and see where it takes you.
Add a vignette as pictured above in a warm-toned palette or a backdrop of colorful window treatments to enhance your upholstery or a little paint to get things started.
So, which are your favorite colors from the Pantone Spring Color Report 2015?
My Simple Real Life Truth ~
I recently painted my powder room in Benjamin Moore Breath of Fresh Air, I absolutely love the color it’s fresh, modern and fun. I paired the rest of the room in tones of gray, black and whites, a gray vanity with a white top, a mirror in gray and cream, artwork in black and white and a window treatment that marries the paint color. Definitely drabbbbb to fab!
Enjoy your week ahead … make a great one!
