Color Trend Inspirations 2016
A few more color forecasting observations …
Technology still plays a driving force in color forecasting, how it affects our everyday life, the need for technology + the need to unplug from it too.
Spa colors continue to be popular in home furnishings and paint colors providing a relaxed vibe.
Where is the gray-scale now?
I think gray has found it’s place and will continue to be a mainstay for interiors. According to www.fashionisers.com Gray or “stormy weather” continues to be strong in the 2015/16 fashion world.
With home interior colors following runway fashion, Gray is here to stay.
Gray is so versatile and popular it’s moved into other applications such as cabinetry.
Color trend inspirations in many combinations!
Adding bright pops of color either to deep tones or neutral palettes.
Gray has paved the way for other deep color tones to enter the arena …
Navy, Wine (think Pantone’s Marsala), Olive (I still think it’s a front-runner for color of the year), Black and Chocolate Browns.
Pair these deep tones with bright pops of color from pinks to reds, cobalt to spa blue, yellows + orange.
I saw a lot of cobalt + black combinations at the market in everything from table top to pillows.
Adding color in accessories to your Neutral furnishings provides a quick refresh.
I also saw a lot of bright pops of color added added to neutral furnishing vignettes.
Monochromatic color schemes
Monochromatic color schemes are beginning to emerge. The layering of one color in varying hues, products, textures makes for an interesting space.
Tone-on-tone prints such as ikat, tie-dye and floral can lend a good jumping off point for a monochromatic scheme.
The HGTV Urban Oasis 2015 showcases both a monochromatic scheme + and offers bright pops of color throughout.
