Video from Elle Decor: 10 Things Every Man Needs at Home …
a simple decor to do list for guys making it easy to set up your home.
This video really hits home! I have two sons moving them in and out of dorm rooms and apartments numerous times has been some of the most enjoyable times of my life, funny memorable moments happened throughout each move … still smiling 🙂
When it comes to apartment living the dorm room transitions but how?
This video has simple straight forward ideas.
My tip ~
Just follow the suggestions below (from the Elle Decor video), copy it and get moving.
- A place to sit and eat that’s not a coffee table
- A beautiful chest of drawers
- A risk with a bold piece
- A desk that’s part of your home
- White Sheets, give a very clean feeling
- Well developed library, gives texture & personality
- Something else in the room with your TV so it doesn’t look like a tech center
- A bathroom that’s your sanctuary
- Lighting options, ability to change lighting appropriately
- Seating thats not a sectional
My favorites ~
A place to sit and eat that’s not a coffee table.
It’s easy to make due with a coffee table, but you’ll really like having a table and chairs to sit and eat, check email or your fantasy football standings.
I would add to that white towels, this way washing is quick and easy.
Also, make the investment & save time by buying a few sets of good quality sheets.
Seating that’s not a sectional.
Yes please a sofa and a couple of chairs! You can still sleep on the sofa even if it’s not a sectional and when you move again a sofa and chairs will lend itself to any floor plan.
But I also love ~
A risk with a bold piece.
What does that mean? Think accessories, something personal, something interesting that you like, one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to you, like something you picked up on vacation, artwork you found at a local store on the way to work or a flea market find.
Well developed library.
Filling a bookcase with books, photo’s and a collection of yours is also very personal while creating a focal point.
Enjoy your day!
