Valentines Day Heart Healthy Ideas to celebrate & make a day out of it! Keep active and eat healthy, make plans or take time for yourself with a day of rejuvenation and fun!
Happy Valentines Day! My 5 Valentines Day Heart Healthy Ideas to keep you and your loved ones healthy + happy on Valentines Day.
1. Plan an activity
Create memories by doing something together! Thanks to my husband for planning this!
Try ice skating, I’m terrible at ice skating but I just love going to the Wollman Rink in Central Park. Romantic as a couple or fun for the entire family.
2. Choose a Menu
My friend Nancy always plans a menu and prints it out when she has us over & she always has a speciality cocktail. It’s really fun to see and makes us feel really special.
One of my favorite Valentines Day Heart Healthy Ideas is a non-alcohol beverage.
So Simple: Whole Foods Italian Sparkling Water with a splash of Organic Tart Cherry Juice from R.W. Knudsen.
Be as creative as you like; serve with or without crushed ice in a fun glass and garnish with berries or add a slice of lime. Shown with a slice of lime & garnished with a blackberry & a sprig of mint.
Valentines Day Heart Healthy Ideas continues with a thoughtful table scape.
3. Setting the Table
Spend some time setting the table, a relaxed table setting always encourages people to sit and linger just a little bit longer. It doesn’t have to be extravagant just thoughtful.
4. Add Candles
Candles of all shapes and sizes creates an atmosphere that’s warm and comfortable.
Ikea is my go to for candles, they’re cost-effective so that you can stock up for any occasion.
Check out Ikea.com to read their full instructions on how to buy for and set a table it’s really good!
Last but not least our Valentines Day Hearth Healthy Ideas wouldn’t be complete without Dessert!
5. Don’t forget dessert
Thanks to my cousin Susi for sharing this heart healthy dessert from the Food Network Neapolitan Banana Ice Cream. I made mine with blueberries and added a very thin chocolate wafer.
Happy Valentines Day!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
and as always, thanks for sharing your week with me! ~ Nancy
