It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful Mom’s out there!
Spending time with family is the most important thing, especially on Mother’s Day. This year think of making a meal with your kids for your Wife; spend time cooking, talking and just relaxing. Here are some tips to make your Mother’s Day brunch easy, fun and special. ~ Nancy
First, Start with the menu.
Get creative maybe introduce something that your Wife wouldn’t normally cook, show her what you can do!
Now worries if cooking is not your thing you don’t have to make the entire meal! Pick up a prepared Quiche from your local bakery, add a fruit & cheese plate with fresh bread/rolls, coffee & juice plus a favorite dessert ~ delish!
Second, Set the Table.
A beautiful table is so inviting making everyone feel special.
Try a simple and fun diy rustic table arrangement with things you probably already have.
Start with the basics: white table-cloth, white plates.
Add: A colorful Table Runner & Napkins
Finish: with a quick diy floral arrangement.
My Tip ~
If you don’t have a table runner use craft paper in brown or white from Michaels Craft Store. For a personalized touch, have the kids draw on it then leave a small glass Maison Jar on the table with crayons in it to use durning brunch!
Tip 2 ~
If you don’t have craft paper or run out of time to get it, use computer paper and get creative; have the kids draw pictures and add favorite photo’s to it too!
Third, Don’t forget the flowers!
A simple floral bouquet from the garden or grocery store is all you really need.
diy Floral Arrangement.
What you’ll need:
Mason Jars you can buy them at a local craft store or from a hardware store!
Option 1 (table setting photo): Fabric strips, wrapping paper or craft paper.
Option 2 (photo above): Twine.
Ribbon, raffia or twine.
Tape & Scissors, double-sided tape, hot glue gun.
What to do:
Option 1 (table setting photo): Take the Maison Jar and wrap it with fabric, wrapping paper or craft paper. If you use craft paper a fun idea is to have everyone write a personal note to Mom on it! Secure the paper with double-sided tape or for fabric use a hot glue gun or tape.
Be careful the hot glue gets really hot, maybe this part is just for Dad’s.
Then wrap ribbon, raffia or twine around the paper secure with hot glue gun or tape if necessary.
Option 2 (photo above): Wrap the Jar with Twine secure with hot glue gun or tape if necessary.
Finish both options: Fill the Maison Jars with water and flowers – boom – done!
And Lastly, enjoy, smile, laugh and be joyful!
Have a wonderful weekend
and as always thanks for sharing your week with me ~ Nancy
