An entryway or foyer will come in all shapes, sizes and design styles. However, a welcoming foyer is really what we are all looking for. And as much as things change they also stay the same. So as Design innovators continue to take twists and turns on many of the same products they provide us with just the right pieces for our entryways.
My Simple Real Life Truth ~ When I first started decorating foyers, for the most part, it all seemed pretty formal. The basics were included a table, mirror, an area rug, a chandelier, and artwork. That basic scenario is still true today but with less formality and more options for us to choose from.
6 key pieces for your Entryway.
First a Table of some size or configuration.
Try a console table with ottomans.
Second, a Mirror.
Add personality with an oversized mirror.
And mirrors come in sorts of design styles, shapes, finishes & sizes.
Third, an Area Rug.
Also, an area rug will help to define the space.
From a chandelier to a table lamp.
Depending on your space lighting can be overhead such as a chandelier or a table lamp or maybe even wall sconces. Although if your space is tight try installing recessed lighting on a dimmer for light control.
So if your lucky enough to have space for seating try a bench!
One large piece or a collection adds warmth to your foyer.
So thanks for stopping in and we hope you’ve left inspired! ~ Nancy
