Maps are one of my favorite diy home decor accessories. I love collecting maps from our trips and then framing them. And vintage maps are fun to collect too. We found a vendor at the Brooklyn Flea that had a great selection. But how do we add maps to our home decor? Actually it’s super easy to add maps as wall art to your home.

Create a gallery wall with a collection of maps.
First, choose a wall for your gallery & measure it out so you have an idea of how many prints you’ll need.
Second, to create a gallery, start by collecting maps you like while on trips or at the Flea Market.
Then have them framed or frame them yourself.
And finally, before you hang them plan out where each framed map will go.
and there you have it, done!

My Simple Real Life Truth ~
Do you want to know why I like adding maps to a room? First because they are sentimental reminding me of my travels. And Secondly, a map is a conversation starter. So a simple map becomes a talking point bringing people together with a common connection. 🙂 The map below is from our trip to Rome. As it turned out I actually found it at a local store in the sale bin for under $5.00! So this one I had professionally framed because of the size. And it’s one of my favorite pieces reminding me of our trip!
So thanks for stopping in and we hope you’ve left inspired! ~ Nancy
