Decorating with yellow has never been easier! Take a look at a quick video, yellow decorating that’s under 2 minutes. And takes the guesswork out of creating a beautiful room using a yellow analogous color scheme.
Video, Yellow Analogous Color Scheme from bhg.com
So what’s an analogous color scheme anyway?
The analogous color scheme consists of 3 groups of colors (Primary, Tertiary, and Secondary). Most importantly, these groups sit next to each other on the color wheel sharing a common color. Such as Yellow (Primary), Yellow-Orange (Tertiary) and Orange (Secondary).
In addition to an analogous color scheme, you can continue around the color wheel adding a pop of color from neighboring color groupings. As in the video additional tertiary colors such as; vibrant reds and pinks were added as accents to the room.
In addition, adding white to an analogous color scheme adds a visual resting place. And does not compete with the already chosen color palette. So if your looking for one more element for your room like an area rug, white is a good choice.
