Whether you have a tiny house or a large home, make the most of your vertical space. Do you have a decorating challenge? Large empty walls, dormer ceilings or tiny spaces that need some kind of decor, but your stuck? Take a look at these 5 ways to decorate vertical spaces.
Monday we took a look at wall decor ideas. So here are 5 more ways to decorate vertical space in your home.
First, Open Shelving. No space for built-in bookcases? Add open shelving. Paint color from Benjamin Moore, Dark Olive.
Second Draperies. Hang draperies above the window casing. Below the drapery rod is installed right under the crown molding creating visual height.
Third, create a vignette. Ground art-work, wall decor or as in the office below, mood boards with a piece of furniture such as the low bookcase. Then make every inch of vertical space count by using wall space for displaying work.
Fourth, add bookcases or built-in bookcases. Take the bookcases as far up to the ceiling as possible for optimum space.
Fifth, paint! Have a vertical space that’s somewhat of a challenge? Accentuate it! Create a focal point by painting.
