So we’re looking at 3 options to paint interior trim work. But what is trim work? Interior Trim, molding or millwork are building materials used to frame windows, doors, walls, floors & ceilings.
Basically, trim work refers to crown molding, baseboard molding, case door & window trim. And as you can guess the painting & design options are pretty much endless.
Keeping it all the same.
First, paint all trim the same color as your walls & ceiling.
Below, trim is painted in a semi-gloss finish which is most often the finish of choice for trim.
Second, for a 2-color palette, paint all trim work a different color than the wall color.
Trim including window molding, baseboard & crown molding & cased openings in the same color & a semi-gloss finish that is different from the wall color.
Mix it up!
Finally, mix things up. Below the window casings and baseboard moldings are painted the same color, and there is no crown molding. As the wall paint color seamlessly extends to the ceiling. Trim work painted in Origami White SW7636, Walls & Ceiling painted in Dark Night SW6237.
So there you have it, 3 options for painting your interior trim work. Easy right? It just takes a little time and planning but once the trim work is freshly painted your room will look amazing!
