Pantone has released their top 10 colors for Fall/Winter 2018. Their Fashion Trend Report captures color trends by fashion designers showing at New York Fashion Week. So How does that affect home decorating? Most often home decorating trends follow the fashion runway, so some of the same colors will most likely be trending at home too!
Pantone 2018 Fall/Winter Color Palette. Because it’s never to early to get an idea of the color trends to come!
As you can see there are seasonal fall/winter colors such as Red Pear and Martini Olive. However, pastels like Crocus Petal and brights like Limelight blur the lines of a traditional color palette.
In addition, according to Pantone’s Fashion Report a Classic Palette “5 core shades for your wardrobe”.
As is in fashion a classic palette works at home too. Although in home decor “classic” would be referred to as a “neutral” palette, however, the idea is the same.
Similarly, the design process has parallels too. First, begin with a paint color that flows throughout your home and investment pieces like the sofa. Then add pops of color with accessories such as draperies, art, area rugs. Just like beginning with the perfect fitting dress in Pantone’s Sargasso Sea then adding accessories such as jewelry, a great pair of shoes and an amazing coat!
