A leading kitchen trend for 2018 was all about mixed finishes. So now that we are almost at the end of the year, how did that trend stand the test of time?
Mixed Finishes | 2018 Kitchen Trend Update
So as far as I can see mixed finishes of all types will continue to trend in kitchen designs. Furthermore, this kitchen trend of mixed finishes has now become the norm and homeowners are embracing the idea fully.
As in the kitchen below, Sherwin-Williams, Cavern Clay 2019 Color of the Year is prominently showcased on the island. And off-set with white perimeter cabinets. Additionally, notice the metal finishes. From gold cabinet hardware to black metal stools and a brown/bronze finish for the lighting fixtures.

Then mixed finishes abound in this beautiful kitchen. First, white perimeter cabinetry accented with oil bronze hardware. And the custom painted kitchen island with a glaze finish creates a focal point. Together with aged copper counter stools, nickel faucet, aged lanterns, and reclaimed wood. This kitchen is a stunning example of mixed finishes.

Third, this modern loft with it’s black & white kitchen takes mixed finishes seriously. Beginning with white perimeter cabinetry accented with gold hardware. Then a mix of black accents that include the backsplash, display cabinet, range hood, lighting, and the wood/metal counter stools. Finally, a sensational stainless steel center island solidifies this industrial design.
