DIY Vintage Trunk turned end table! This was so simple and fun. And all it took was a little time.
DIY Vintage Trunk
First, we began with a timeworn vintage trunk we found in the back of an outside storage unit. Finally at the end of a long cold & blustery day as the sun was setting outside we made it to the back of the storage unit. And there it was, a large and very dirty storage trunk brimming with amazing brass & wood detailing and stamped with family initials on the side.
So I always say, if you find something you love you will find a place for it. In this case, I had envisioned the perfect spot for it as a bedroom night side table.
All it needed was a little time cleaning it up. But by the same token, I didn’t want to rub anything off of it especially the initials. With this in mind, I just used warm water and lots of towels.
Lastly, I measured the top and ordered a piece of glass to place on top of it. Since the top is layered with wood I used clear surface bumpers to protect the glass and the top of the trunk. If you have never used a type of clear surface bumpers, they are a handy item to have in your toolbox.
So thanks for dropping in today! ~ Nancy
