DIY Wreath is a fun and really simple project to take on this year. Together with your kids, it’s an easy way to deck the halls with a personalized DIY wreath! And all you need is a few supplies, a little vision, and some Holiday Cheer.
DIY Wreath | Deck the Halls
Selecting wreath materials.
First, decide on the wreath material that you want to use. And there are several options. Such as an undecorated premade live pine, boxwood or mixed greens wreath, which is easily available while you are selecting a tree. Or head to the Craft Store. Where you can purchase a premade grapevine, straw or faux pine wreath.
Then again, taking it one step further, start with a wood or wireframe (sold at Craft Stores) and build your wreath from scratch! Even a vintage picture frame is a unique idea, to begin building your DIY Wreath with.
Then there is the bow.
Since bows can be tricky to make go ahead a splurge on a pre-made bow. Or purchase a large wire edge spool of ribbon to make your own. While ribbon can be costly I’ve found that Costco has a beautiful variety of ribbons. But for the best selection, don’t wait till the last minute.
Craft Box must-haves.
Lastly, a few things that you’ll need for attaching ribbons, bows, and ornaments. If you don’t have a Craft Box already this is a perfect time to make one. Begin with some twine, Florist Green Wire, Florist Tape, Glue Gun (buy extra glue sticks), and Wire Cutters. All of these can be picked up at your local Craft Store. Just be sure to supervise and use caution with anything hot like the glue gun or sharp like wire cutters.
Show your style.
So, let’s say your style is Farmhouse, perhaps an undecorated oversized boxwood wreath would be the perfect finishing touch to your room.
Or add decorations to your DIY Wreath.
And the options are endless to personalize your DIY Wreath. Like, flowers, seashells, ornaments, a favorite book, musical instrument, baking whisks tied with a pretty ribbon, or a stuffed animal.
As a final note, keep in mind where you will hang your DIY Wreath. For example, you may want to select weatherproof decorations for an outdoor wreath.
