Valentine’s Day Dessert is the focus of our Friday’s Fun Links today. Why? Because Valentine’s Day is in 6 days! And a homemade dessert such as beautiful Macarons or irresistible Cupcakes is always the perfect way to end a delicious meal. And they make a thoughtful gift to share or bring into the office.
Valentine’s Day Dessert
So, first, we’ll start with the fun, fanciful and somewhat trendy Macaron. But what is a Macaron? Made famous by the French, the Macaron is made of two flat almond based cookies with a filling of ganache or jam.
View the video below from MarthaStewart.com and visit MarthaStewart.com Basic French Macarons as she takes us step by step how to make the beautiful and delicious Macaron. And as a side note, these Macarons can be made for approximately $0.18 a piece.
Second, Moist Fluffy Coconut Cupcakes from Ina Garten, one of my absolute favorite! And since I do make them a lot I have found that I can freeze unfrosted cupcakes for a bit so I don’t waste one delicious cupcake!
So, that’s two good comfort food dessert option for your Valentine’s Day! Both recipes make enough to share with friends or bring into the office. Although if Cupcakes or Macarons are not your favorite comfort food dessert, take a look at the Marshmellow Brownie recipe from our Friday’s Fun Super Bowl Menu post.
