2020 places an importance on biophilia – our intrinsic need as humans to interact with nature.
The inclusion of live greenery and mineral-based materials like marble, allow us to create a natural sanctuary that encourages rejuvenation in your everyday life. It’s about slowing down to appreciate the beauty in nature and how you can bring it indoors.
So, what are your thoughts on Naval, Sherwin-Williams 2020 Color of the Year? Personally & Professionally, I am really excited about this choice for COY. That being said, a navy blue paint color will act as a neutral providing a beautiful backdrop for a variety of colors. And textural materials such as rattan, rush seating, marble, metallic gold and of course plants.

Hi. I plan to paint navy blue on a similar window wall as in your photo. My large room is facing East. I don’t know what color to paint the rest of the walls. My furnishings are warm toned. Would natural linen work? Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Hi Liz Ann, your room sounds beautiful! I would paint the remaining walls a white color, especially with warm-toned furnishings. East facing rooms generally receive a good amount of light in the morning. Therefore, the navy accent wall along with white walls and warm furnishings will keep the room open, bright yet warm and welcoming.
Hope this helps! Thanks for reading my blog! Best, Nancy
