Kitchen design features that made a huge impact on Our Kitchen Remodel included something personal an architectural detail and color. It was hard to pare down to just 3 design or decorating details but each one had a significant impact on the overall layout and decor.
3 Kitchen Design Features
Something Personal, Coffee Bar
Coffee Bar or Coffee Niche. We love a good cup of coffee or espresso. That being said, a coffee bar or coffee niche was among the kitchen design features we wanted work into our plan. So as it turns out the coffee bar provided triple duty in our kitchen. First by providing a functional coffee area. Second for glassware storage. And third, it acts as a natural separator in our new open concept floor plan.
Architectural Details, Large Window
The second of our kitchen design features was the addition of a large window. One feature of our home that we enjoy the most is our backyard space. So it made perfect sense to pare down upper cabinetry making way for an oversized window. Consequently, this architectural feature brings so much light and air in the kitchen. As a bonus, you can view this window from adjacent rooms!
Color, Handpainted Backsplash
It was love at first sight. Seeing this beautiful handpainted tile just brought every decor detail into focus. From paint colors for the walls, trim and island to the white oak island top. And lastly, to the custom knob color on the Blue Star Range.
As a side note, the handpainted tile is available through The Tile Gallerie. And for additional product information, take a look at our blog post, Our Kitchen Remodel.
