At Intentional Designs, we’ve been busy working on a new custom bedding project. And one of our color palettes begins with a pale pink coverlet.
Consequently, over the weekend I received a catalog from Flor.com with a Pink, white, and wood dining area on the cover. With all this pink around me, I inspired me to write this blog post.

Considered a direct complementary color scheme, Red –> Green. Layer color & texture. Beginning with a white paint color, pale green accent wall, pink bedding, and the addition of natural textures. Such as; wood tones and a cozy throw.

Consulting a color wheel is always interesting to me. Especially when you start looking at the color wheel along with a proposed decorating plan, color connections just jump out.
My Simple Real Life Truth ~ On the whole, decorating for real life is most often a compromise. Therefore, the design is a careful balance of color, pattern, texture & scale that work on all levels for those involved. Whenever I decorate a space for a couple or family it’s important to keep the design ratio as equal as possible for everyone. This is especially true for a public space like a family room.
