Summertime is the perfect time to get your guest room retreat ready for the Fall & Winter Holidays. And just what goes into making a Guest Room a retreat? Well, that depends on your style and ingenuity. But today, we’ll take a look at 5 ways to design a Guest Room Retreat.
So the number one most important element in the room is the bed. That being said, make it a comfortable as possible. Is it time to upgrade the mattress? Or will a mattress topper suffice?

Then temperature control takes the second spot. So in some homes, the air or heat is not as efficient in certain areas of the house. Too warm, add a fan. Too cold, add appropriate bed linens like a duvet.

Third, Window Coverings. Most people prefer window coverings for light control & privacy. And there are so many options available for window coverings, from a multitude of shade offerings to draperies & roman shades.

Fourth, Technical upgrades. Such as, adding a television, easy phone charging even a clock makes navigating the room a little easier.

Fifth, Design. As always a good design plan creates a positive flow to any room. But in particular, a Guest Room where the size of the room may be a tad tight. Don’t overdo it with lots of unnecessary stuff. Instead, invest in quality products. And focus on storage that is free & clear and ready for your guests to use. So clean out that closet, because your guest doesn’t want to stumble upon those old pair of shoes from 10 years ago either!

All in all, decorating a guest bedroom takes time and thought. And sometimes it’s just a process, so enjoy it. Because designing is fun!
